After my graduation, I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time, first as a Technology Analyst, and then as a Technology Associate during my year-long stay at the firm.
Technology Analyst:
As a Technology Analyst, I did the following:
- Completed the coveted Technology Analyst Program (TAP) by Mallon Associates.
- Training covered various CS domains like Operating Systems, DBMS, Data Science, NLP and languages like C++, Java, Scala
- It also covered financial domain knowledge like Stocks, Bonds, Derivatives, Markets etc.
- Worked on a web-based Dashboard that collects Securities Reference Data from various data sources and creates visualizations on top of them.
- Technologies used: Angular 6, Mocha, Java 8, JUnit
Technology Associate:
As a Technology Associate, I accomplished the following:
- Worked on fetching high volume (~300 million rows/day) Data Quality data present in files and databases onto Apache Spark and running Data Quality rules on this data to generate reports.
- Felicitated with Rookie Award for being the best newcomer in the Institutional Securities Tech division at Morgan Stanley
- Technologies used: Apache Spark, Scala, Java 8, JUnit
